Louis Vuitton F/W17 Shiny Epi Pochette Métis

Categories:Louis Vuitton

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. But if you want to sell more of the same thing, you come up with more variations, of course. Yes, I’m talking about Louis Vuitton’s now iconic (and much-loved) Pochette Métis, first launched in 2013 in Monogram Canvas and now reinterpreted by Nicolas Ghesquiere for the F/W17 collection. Having since been launched in Monogram Reverse, Monogram Infrarouge and even Monogram Empreinteleather, this season you’ll find it in Shiny Epi, which is basically patent Epileather.

What’s also new is its size, with the Shiny Epi Pochette Métis coming in Mini. Measuring 20 cm by 14 cm by 6 cm, it’s definitely smaller than the MM, with the added hanging key holder chain a new feature. Available in Navy (matched with Monogram Reverse) and Orange (matched with Monogram Canvas), you can carry it via its top handle or wear it across the body by using the long chain sling.

But if Shiny Epi ain’t your thing, know that the Pochette Métis will come in Denim Epi (MM size), in florals printed on Epi leather in both sizes and even one that comes with brogue detailing on the front flap of the bag. In other words, as and when more pics (and prices) come in, there’ll be more updates soon enough so stay tuned.

With summer here, looking to upgrade your wardrobe should be one of your top priorities. You may be dreaming of your swimwear, shorts or rompers, but have you focused on accessories yet? When it comes to completing your outfit, accessories are the perfect finishing touch. We rounded up five different accessories that will take your summer style to the next level.

One way to complete your summer look is with a handbag. You may think that just running around with a basic tote bag is the perfect way to accent your outfit, but you would be wrong. Make sure to update your summer ensemble with a handbag in woven straw, bright pastels or colorful prints. It is an easy way to start a conversation or take your outfit to a whole new level. You can find handbags at many outlets, and for great prices on fashion accessories check out AreaTrend deals. Even if you are not a fan of bold colors, an accent of bright pink or blue is a good finishing touch.

Another accessory that is perfect for summer is of course sunglasses. With the sun out, you will need to shield your eyes in style. Whether you are going to the beach for swim season or just hanging out with friends in casual style, sunglasses are the perfect touch. Choose from classic cat eye silhouettes to oversized round frames and angular square shapes. A tortoiseshell print is great for those looking for a classic look. Or if you want to stand out, embrace white frames to draw attention to your face. And there are always the signature black frames like Audrey Hepburn’s look in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’.

If you want to beat the heat for summer, wearing a nice wide-brimmed hat is perfect to get the sun out of your face. We love a wide-brimmed sunhat made of straw, a baseball cap for a more casual look or even a sporty visor. And you can even branch out from basic black or navy. Rock floral prints, bold stripes or bow embellishments. Another thing to wear for the summer are headbands to keep your hair out of your face or just add a stylish touch to your look.

With the warm weather you also want to wear on-trend jewelry. Try to keep your look light and effortless with colorful gems. Whether you are shopping on a budget or have open options, you can add some personality to your summer style with choices like rose gold, bohemian-style tassels and long silhouettes. But make sure to not layer too many jewelry pieces since it may make your outfit look clunky and uncouth.

The final accessory that will complete your summer wardrobe is a belt. They are not just for wearing with pants, but they are also great with a dress to get a cinched look. You should already have a classic black or brown belt, but embracing bold colors can really upgrade your look. Choose from gilded gold to on-trend pink and cobalt blue for a statement-making look.

Each designer brand has one or more signature handbag that stands-out from the rest; the Bayswater is Mulberry’s version. Launched in 2003, the Bayswater was an instant-hit and it’s still one of the best selling bags in the world today. It’s practical, durable and functional in every way, and it’s even adorned by many Celebrities – let me recall Emma Hill, the Creative Director’s statement to imply it’s popularity: ‘I have a Bayswater, my son’s grandmother has a Bayswater, Kate Moss has a Bayswater’. And today the fashion house has decided to extend the Bayswater collection by introducing the backpack edition.

The Bayswater remain an iconic bag partly because it’s still made in the same factory that Mulberry started back in 1971 – in Somerset. Since its first release, the Bayswater is still made in the United Kingdom. The design is a mixture of traditional English doctor’s bag with an elegant structure of Hermes’s classic design. The latest Bayswater Backpack features the same signature components.

Introduced in single colors, the Bayswater Backpack is made with the famous round-shaped postman’s lock with the house’s name marked on it. It comes with a top handle and a front flap, exactly the same as the original version. On the back it features long leather straps for back carry. However, you can also convert it into a tote bag by hiding those long leather straps and using the handles.

These designs are simple but timeless. The Bayswater is also known as durable handbags and they’re ideal to use as an everyday bag. With its streamlined body that holds shape, this bag is perfect for any occasions.

The interior features one large compartment to store all your essentials. It can also carry a bit more heavy stuff like your laptop. It’s also made with a small zip pocket to secure your important things like cash or credit cards. Measuring 27 x 28.5 x 18 cm (H x W x D), priced at $1295 USD, €1195 euro, £ 995 GBP via Mulberry boutiques.
